Voters and people nationwide are expressing their concurrence with the high responsibility and determination of the Party, National Assembly and Government in implementing socio-economic development plans and protecting the national sea and island sovereignty.
After watching a plenary session of the NA broadcast live on June 2, voters showed their absolute trust in the Party and State’s orientations, saying that Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech on the East Sea issue at the 24 th ASEAN Summit in Myanmar on May 11 has created a firm confidence among people and won their complete support.
Voters in the southern province of Binh Duong applauded the NA deputies’ in-depth discussions on the socio-economic development and their determination to safeguard the country’s sacred sea and island sovereignty and demanded China withdraw its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 from Vietnam ’s waters.
Do Thi Kim Loan, General Director of the Sao Viet Wood Company and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Wood Processors’ Association, said she agreed with the Government’s plan to allocate a package of 16 trillion VND (762 million USD) to law enforcement authorities at sea and fishermen.
She said recent disturbances negatively impacted the investment environment of Binh Duong in particular and the country in general, adding local businesses are pleased with the Government’s timely support that helps them overcome difficulties and normalise operations.
Nguyen Van Rien, Chairman of the Binh Duong Committee for Catholic Solidarity, said his organisation always respects the Vietnam-China friendship but requests China to immediately remove its illegal rig from Vietnam ’s waters.
He expressed his wish that the dispute will be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of international law, equality and mutual respect, for the interests of the two nations as well as for peace and stability in the region and the world at large.
Voter Lo Doan Kieu from the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang said he not only supports the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State but also actively advises others to maintain their position and heighten vigilance against incitement by extremists.
