The Vietnam Television (VTV) on Sept. 7 inaugurated the first phase of its state-of-art programme production centre on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the broadcast of its first TV programme.

Attending the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that in the current time of information boom, the extension of technical infrastructure of VTV is necessary. The centre was built as the initial step of a process to modernise the national television station, building it into a strong media group in the region and the world.

Construction of the VTV programme production centre started in 2006, using ODA capital from Japan .

The 385 million USD centre will have a 28-storey building with 18 studios and a system of technical centres./.
