A number of environmental specialists and local officials had the opportunity to exchange ideas on how to make the nation’s cities adapt to climate changes at a national conference held in Hanoi on November 26.

Participants at the conference, entitled “Asian cities deal with climate change”, focused their discussions on the impacts of climate change on major Vietnamese cities and other related issues.

They also explored current financial support strategies that help less well off nations adapt to climate change and looked at ways of safeguarding urban areas, that meet the requirements set out by donors within the framework of agreements reached at the United Nations Convention on Climate Change.

The conference, organised by the National Institute of Technological and Scientific Strategy and Policy, will end on November 27./.
