The World Bank (WB) in Vietnam said on June 1 that it has approved two credits worth 250 million USD for Vietnam to implement Red River Delta health support and scientific-technological research projects.
Accordingly, the bank, through the International Development Association (IDA), will provide 150 million USD for the Red River Delta Regional Health System Support Project, which aims to offer better health care services to 15 million people in the region, especially women and children.
The project will also help strengthen the capacity of district- and provincial- level hospitals in order to ease the overload of central-level hospitals.
Meanwhile, the remaining 100 million USD will be used to support creative activities in the science and technology sector in Vietnam through designing policies to encourage creativity in the field and enhancing the efficiency of Research and Development (R&D) institutes.-VNA
