Phnom Penh (VNA) – The World Bank (WB) has provided 25.06 million USD to support the second phase of the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development project (LASED II), from 2016 to 2021. 

The Project Launching and Dissemination Workshop of LASED II took place in Phnom Penh on October 25 under the presidency of Cambodian Senior Minister Chea Sophara, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the Cambodian news agency (AKP) reported. 

The WB-funded LASED I was conducted between 2008 and 2015 on 10,273 ha of land for 3,148 poor families in Kratie, Thbong Khmum, and Kampong Thom provinces. 

According to the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the LASED II will be carried out on 17,042 ha of land for 5,141 families in five targeted provinces, including Kratie, Thbong Khmum, Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, and Kampong Speu. 
LASED II will be additionally supported by GIZ through its Improvement of Livelihood and Food Security (ILF) Project as in the first phase.-VNA
