The World Bank (WB) has selected five major cities in the Mekong delta to help upgrade infrastructural facilities and improve social welfare, according to Deputy Chairman of My Tho city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Dam.

The selected cities are My Tho of Tien Giang province, Ca Mau of Ca Mau province, Rach Gia of Kien Giang province, and Can Tho amd Tra Vinh town of Tra Vinh province.

Dam said that a pre-feasibility study for the upgrade of My Tho city will be conducted in the last six months of the year. The city’s feasibility project will be made in 2010, and implementation of the project will be carried out after approval./.
