The World Bank (WB) has agreed to provide an additional loan of 14.5 million USD for the central province of Khanh Hoa to help it continue a sub-project to improve environmental hygiene in Nha Trang city, a WB representative said on April 22.
Accordingly, an agreement to this effect is scheduled to be inked in mid-May and the additional loan will take effect in August.
The sub-project is part of a larger-scale project to improve environmental hygiene in three central coastal cities of Nha Trang, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh) and Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), using loans from the WB.
The project has been implemented since 2008, however, only 10 million USD out of a budget of 72 million USD was disbursed while the deadline for the project is May, 2014.
After an overall inspection, the WB asked Khanh Hoa province to accelerate the disbursement of funding with 17 million USD targeted for this year./.
