Windsurfing grand slam wraps up in Mui Ne

The 2011 Vietnam Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) Grand Slam wrapped up in Mui Ne beach, Phan Thiet city in the central province of Binh Thuan on March 5 after ten days of competition.
The 2011 Vietnam Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) Grand Slam wrapped up in Mui Ne beach, Phan Thiet city in the central province of Binh Thuan on March 5 after ten days of competition.

The tournament attracted the participation of more than 92 windsurfers from 28 countries and territories competing in freestyle and slalom categories.

Kiri Thode from the Netherlands won the freestyle event and Sarah Quita Offringa from Aruba and Bjorn Dunkerbeck from Switzerland won the women’s and men’s slalom events, respectively.
 
PWA President Jimmy Diaz said Mui Ne-Phan Thiet made remarkable contributions to the success of the event though this was the first time the locality had hosted such a world level tournament.

He said Mui Ne will be PWA’s option for the venue of its yearly grand slam./.
