The contest, jointlyorganised by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the National Committee onASEAN, aimed to raise people’s understandings on ASEAN and createwidespread advocacy for cooperative programmes between Vietnam andASEAN as well as the establishment of the ASEAN Community by 2015.
The contest has lured the participation of numerous VOVlisteners, including foreigners, since it was launched in early thisyear, said the organisers.
Speaking at theceremony, Surin Pitsuvan, ASEAN General Secretary spoke highly of thegood performance of Vietnam as ASEAN chairmanship over the past sixmonths and said that the contest had helped people more understand aboutASEAN, especially when Vietnam is taking the chairmanship of ASEAN.
The first prize worth 5 million VND was givento Vu Tien, a retired man from Binh Han district in the northern city ofHai Duong while the two second prizes belonged to Vu Dinh Ky, aveteran in Kim Thanh district, also in Hai Duong province and Bui ThiNgo from Ba Dinh district, Hanoi .
In addition,there were three third prizes and five consolation prizes./.
