Work on the construction of a water supply plant of 2,000 cu. m in daily capacity started on September 14 in the Bo Y border gate economic zone in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.

All the plant’s major works are under construction and are expected to be completed prior to the rainy season, said the Management Board of the economic zone.

This is the first water plant of its kind built in the economic zone. The project has a total investment capital of 45 billion VND (over 2.5 million USD), of which nearly 26 billion VND is official development assistance from the Japanese government and the remainder is the State’s counter-balance capital.

Once the plant is put into operation by the end of this year, it is expected to supply safe water to nearly 10,000 people living at the Bo Y international border gate economic zone, and put an end to the current shortage of safe water./.
