Work on construction of a RoK-funded general hospital started in the central province of Quang Nam on Jan. 20.

The building of the hospital is a demonstration of the development of the Vietnam-RoK relations, Minister of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu said at the ground breaking ceremony for the 45 million USD hospital, to which the Republic of Korea government doles out 35 million USD.

RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae reiterated the RoK’s pledge to help Vietnam reach its goal to become an industrialised country by 2020 with priority given to caring for people’s life.

The hospital will have 500 beds and is equipped with modern facilities.

The RoK’s aid package includes 3 million USD for the training of hospital staff in RoK and Vietnam .

The RoK Hallym University ’s Medical Centre, the project management advisor, has pledged to provide five scholarships each year for doctors working in the hospital to follow postgraduate education./.
