Work starts on Central Highlands general hospital

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan on July 19 attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Central Highlands’ general hospital, which isbeing built in Buon Me Thuot City, in Dak Lak province.

The 800-bed regional general hospital, which will sit on a 12ha site,has an investment of 1.1 trillion VND, raised from Government bonds.

On being completed in 2013, the hospital will meet thedemand for high-tech medical check-ups and treatments for people in theCentral Highlands region and several provinces of neighbouring countriesLaos and Cambodia .

Up to now in the region,serious cases such as brain injuries or cancer that require specialhigh-tech treatment, have had to go to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City .The construction of a general hospital in the Central Highlands willalso help with the overcrowding at other hospitals./.

Over 1.2 million students begin national high school graduation exam

Under the current examination format, candidates are required to complete the mandatory Literature and Mathematics tests, along with a combined test comprising two subjects selected from a range of options, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Technology-Industry, Technology-Agriculture, and Economics-Law. Students may also choose to take a foreign language different from the one studied at school.
