Work starts on hydroelectric plant in Cambodia

Construction of a hydroelectric power plant, Stung Tatai, with a designed capacity of 338 MW, broke ground in Koh Kong province, Cambodia.
Construction of a hydroelectric powerplant, Stung Tatai, with a designed capacity of 338 MW, broke ground inKoh Kong province, Cambodia.

The plant, the largestof its kind in Cambodia, will be built at a cost of 540 million USD bythe Chinese Heavy Machinery Manufacturing Group.

According to Cambodian Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Suy Sem,the plant is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2013,serving energy demands in Phnom Penh and Koh Kong, Preah Sihanoukprovinces and several others in the western country./.

Thailand’s economy may face recession risk

In its latest report, KKP Research noted that Thailand’s vulnerability goes beyond its reliance on imported crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
