The construction of a site in memory of late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh has started in East village, Pamakab district, the Thai province of Phichit.

As part of a project on building the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Village, the work covers an area of nearly 8,000 square metres donated by local residents.

The site is expected to be completed by 2015 to mark the 125th birth anniversary of President Ho (May 19).

Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in the village for a month in the autumn of 1928 before moving to north-eastern provinces.-VNA
