The subject “Labour contracts abroad” hit upon the concerns of young people during an on-line discussion co-sponsored by the HCM Communist Youth Union Central Committee Secretariat and the daily newspaper Thanh Nien (Young People) on March 9.

The anxieties of young job seekers and their worries about the risks and cost of working abroad were eased with clear explanations by authorities on the Government’s support policies, including financial aid.

The Deputy Head of the Department on Youth Workers and Urban Areas, Dang Quoc Toan, said the youth union would hold online consultation and recruitment sessions for workers interested in labour contracts for definite terms abroad, with the first being on March 22.

Similar sessions will follow suit in conjunction with Radio Voice of Vietnam from 9 am to 11 am on March 11, he added.

In this regard, the youth union has published 20,000 copies of a manual on career planning and job placement and 20,000 copies of a set of guidelines on career planning and vocational training.

The nation’s largest organisation of youths has set up a web page at www.vieclam116.vn for young job seekers and a hotline at 1 900 9416 for those concerned.

Employment promotion centres under local youth organisations throughout the country are all encouraged to engage in holding employment sessions for young people.

Labour export is considered by the Vietnamese government to be an important strategy in strengthening the youth workforce in the current stage of national industrialisation and modernisation./.
