Strengthening public-private partnership to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) topped the agenda of a seminar in Hanoi on Oct. 5.

The seminar, held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade within the APEC cooperation framework, aimed to improve the awareness and knowledge of government officials and businesspeople about CSR to enable the community to develop sustainably.

Experts from the US, New Zealand and Canada, shared their experiences in consolidating public-private partnership to implement CSR, especially when protecting workers and the environment as well as supporting government social welfare and anti-corruption programmes.

The participants also discussed ways of furthering public-private partnership throughout the entire supply chain, from producers to distributors to consumers./.
