Workshop introduces Vietnam’s potential in Belgium

A workshop on Vietnam ’s economic growth and potential took place in Belgium ’s East Flanders province on Oct. 6 with the participation of almost 60 officials from the two countries and representatives from Belgium’s enterprises.
A workshop on Vietnam ’s economic growth and potential took place in Belgium ’s East Flanders province on Oct. 6 with the participation of almost 60 officials from the two countries and representatives from Belgium’s enterprises.

The event was co-hosted by East Flanders province’s authorities and the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium .

East Flanders Deputy Governor Marc De Buck said the workshop aimed to help Belgium ’s businesses better understanding opportunities and challenges in Vietnam , ahead of the Belgian Crown Prince visit to the Southeast Asian country next March.

Speaking at the workshop, Vietnamese former Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen presented achievements that Vietnam made in the implementation of the Strategy for Socio-economic Development 2001-1010.

Tuyen also pointed to difficulties faced by Vietnam in the context of negative impacts from the financial-economic crisis in the world.

He expressed hope that Vietnam will continue to attract investors from European Union, including Belgium. /.
