Workshop spotlights VN-Laos border marker planting

The northern province of Dien Bien hosted on April 28 - 29 a training workshop on the dissemination of information about the planting and upgrading of border markers along the Vietnam-Laos boundary.

Participants to the workshop were provided with an overview of theVietnam - Laos border as well as the objective, significance andactivities regarding the planting and upgrading of national bordermarkers within the province’s area.

Dien Bien shares a 360-kmborderline with Phongsaly and Luang Prabang provinces of Laos . Since2008, the three provinces have been carrying out a project to upgrade21 existing border markers and build an additional 135 markers.

To complete the project by 2014, the provincial Party Committee’s Boardfor Popularisation and Information asked ideological-cultural and pressagencies to step up the dissemination of information about the projectin order to receive more support and active participation of localauthorities, officials, Party members and ethnic people./.

Search efforts continue for Vietnamese fallen soldiers in Cambodia

During the 2026-2027 dry season, Teams K70, K71, K72 and K73 will continue their search and repatriation mission, striving to fulfil the target based on 185 pieces of information concerning 761 graves. Each team is expected to collect at least 100 sets of remains during each deployment.

32 fishermen rescued at sea safely return home

Vietnamese in Laos, Singapore honour President Ho Chi Minh on National Day
