Village heads, commune leaders and border guards from 16 communes of central Thanh Hoa province bordering Laos gathered at a workshop on law dissemination on June 12.

This was the first time the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education had held to share experience for further implementation in other provinces along the Vietnam-Laos common border.

Participants heard issues related to the two countries’ border line, including legal documents on Vietnam-Laos border and the upgrade of land border markers between the two countries.

They were introduced with cross-border trade in 2012, cooperation plan for 2013 and regulations for border trade; border security, border line building and protecting; as well as the national target programme on bringing information to remote, border and island areas.

The participants also exchanged experience and difficulties, and proposed solutions to further raise public awareness on border construction and protection.
