The meeting of the joint managing council of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) closed in Hanoi on May 31 with the issuance of a political resolution reaffirming the federation’s role in the struggle against the imperialism.

The council is always consistent with anti-imperialism movements, protesting all forms of exploitation and wars, occupations, economic measures and intervention through imperialism, the resolution said.

It also voiced the federation’s solidarity with youth around the world in the struggle against regimes that exploit people.

The five-day event, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, drew the participation of about 60 delegates from more than 20 countries and 30 organisations.

At the event, the union reported to the participants about China’s illegal placement of its drilling rig deep inside the exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of Vietnam.

It called on the federation and all progressive democratic youth in the world to show support to and solidarity with the Vietnamese people in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as in their national construction and defence.-VNA
