Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The wreckage of Hawk 108 fighter jet, which disappeared from radar on June 15, has been found in Terengganu state, the Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) confirmed.

The RMAF said the fighter jet’s wreckage was discovered in a forest in Terengganu state on June 16.

The Bernama news agency cited Malaysian Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein as saying that the ministry will conduct a thorough investigation into this crash to see it from all angles.

The Hawk fighter jet departed from a RMAF base in Kuantan district at 11am on June 15 (local time). Contact was lost 30 minutes later. The bodies of its two pilots were found the same day in Chukai town, Terengganu state.

There have been several military plane accidents in Malaysia recently.  In December 2016, a military Beechcraft B200T turboprop went down in the town of Butterworth in northern Malaysia.

In May 2016, an air force Aermacchi MB339CM jet crashed in a small town in the rural state of Pahang but there were no casualties.-VNA
