Vietnamese wrestlers pocketed two gold medals on December 10 afternoon at the 27 th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

The new decorations put the country second on the medal tally with nine golds, four silvers and seven bronzes, only after host Myanmar.

Pham Thi Hue, 55kg, defeated her Myanmar rival Aye Aye to take a gold medal, while her teammate Pham Thi Loan topped the women’s 59 category after outplaying her Indonesian and Myanmar competitors.

However, Khong Van Khoa failed to reach the gold at the men’s 74 category to win a bronze.

In the morning, Wushu artist Pham Quoc Khanh brought the 5 th gold medal for the Vietnamese Wushu team in the men’s gunshu, helping them surpassing the set target.

Three days ago, six other gold medals were earned by Wushu artists Duong Thuy Vi, Hoang Thi Phuong Giang, Nguyen Thi Chinh and Nguyen Thu Hoai, and wrestlers Doi Dang Tien and Tran Van Tuong.

Vietnam set a goal of gaining at least 70 gold medals at the 27th SEA Games, which will last until December 22.-VNA
