Wushu artists bag first medals

Vietnamese wushu artists bagged several medals right on the first day of the third World Junior Wushu Championships which kicked off in Singapore on Dec. 5.

Hoang Thi Phuong Giang took a gold medal for daoshu and a bronze medal for gunshu in the taolu (performance) competition.

Meanwhile, Duong Thuy Vy won a silver for qianshu and Cam Phat Dat bagged another bronze for nandao.

On the second day of the championship, Vietnamese sanshou (combat) artists were also successful and five of them berthed their places in the semi-finals.

On Dec. 7, two other Vietnamese sanshou artists are competing in the quarterfinals, while their teammates are continuing their competition in other events.

The 3rd World Junior Wushu Championships which lasts until Dec. 10 draws more than 400 wushu artists from 45 countries and territories worldwide./.
