Vice President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Huu Hong on October 5 handed over 1.5 billion VND to the authorities Quang Binh province.

He also visited and offered relief packages to hardest hit families in Bo Trach district’s Duc Trach, Phu Trach and Bac Trach communes.

A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities presented 600 million VND to local people in Ha Tinh province while providing 200 relief package worth of 100 million to the victims in Ky Nam commune, Ky Anh district.

In Nghe An province, the HCMC delegation handed over 200 million VND to the provincial authorities.

The Bac A Bank in collaboration with the TH True Milk Joint Stock Company presented 32,000 cups of milk to local people.

In response to an appeal by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the southern province of Hau Giang decided to use 700 million VND from its budget to help people in the central region.

The province also called on local people to donate at least one day’s salary each to raise funds for the victims.-VNA
