Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association is advised to draw more youngsters to engage in its activities to sustain and develop the friendly relations between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung made the suggestion at the fifth congress of the association for the 2016-2021 tenure in Hanoi on December 10.

He said the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership holds significance in the foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State.

He told the association to diversify activities and seek more international partners to increase experience sharing and bridge cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian businesses.

He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia to closely coordinate with the association to promote people-to-people exchanges.

Delegates approved orientations and activities for the 2016-2021 tenure, including the popularisation of Vietnamese Party and State’s policies on internal and external affairs to help Russian people, especially youngsters, understand better about Vietnam as well as the two countries’ relations.

The executive board in the 2016-2021 tenure includes 28 members. Vice Chairman of the association in 2011-2016 Tran Binh Minh was elected as new Chairman./.
