Youngsters nationwide are joining people of all walks of life nationwide in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap who died in Hanoi on October 4.
In Ho Chi Minh City, thousands of students rushed to the Youth Culture House in District 1 to pay tribute to him. They vowed to do their best to follow the General’s example by improving their knowledge and upholding the tradition of patriotism.
In the northern province of Hai Phong, a forum entitled “General Vo Nguyen Giap in the hearts of Hai Phong youths” drew a large number of military officials, voluntary youths and Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union members.
The discussions focused on his illustrious life and career, reviewing his military and moral lessons.
In Hanoi, nearly 6,000 voluntary youths are working round the clock to serve the national funeral. They are offering free parking services, food and drinking water to mourners while closely working with relevant agencies to ensure social safety and order in areas near the National Funeral Hall and some inner roads.
Earlier, they also extended their support to those flocking to his home at 30 Hoang Dieu street.-VNA
