The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will provide 86 million USD for a project supporting Vietnam ’s health system in 2012-2016 term, according to the Ministry of Health.

The project will be divided into two parts. Part 1 of the plan, which will be implemented in 15 provinces, will focus on training 1,000 doctors in four years and 6,000 medical workers in villages, hamlets. Local medical workers will also receive training in AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria prevention under this plan.

Meanwhile, in Part 2, the plan will focus on increasing capacity for the National Centre of Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring. A national network will be set up to monitor adverse drug reactions in community healthcare programmes, together with a feedback system to promote safe use of drugs./.
