Brazilian Ambassador Vitoria Alice Cleaver bade farewell to President Truong Tan Sang on August 15 at the end of her tenure in Vietnam.

The outgoing ambassador informed her host about the preparations for the upcoming inter-Governmental conference, adding that the two countries should review and make adjustments to signed agreements in order to further boost bilateral cooperation.

President Sang appreciated the contribution that the ambassador has made to promoting the Vietnam-Brazil comprehensive partnership during her tenure and agreed to her proposal on reviewing bilateral agreements.

He affirmed that Vietnam treasures the cooperative ties with Brazil, taking into account the country’s role in Latin America as well as in the world.

There is great potential for the two countries to expand their collaboration, particularly when the ASEAN Community is formed in 2015, the president said, suggesting increasing bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, culture and tourism.

The president also offered condolences to Brazil over the death of presidential candidate Educardo Campos in an air crash on August 13.-VNA
