Mr. Le Cuong’s chrysanthemum garden in the central province of Binh Dinh has nearly 1,000 plants, of which 80% can be sold. Many of his workers are busy trimming leaves and picking off small buds. This is the final step after many months of hard work caring for each pot of chrysanths.

According to gardeners, this year’s weather has been favourable, and on average a pot of chrysanthemums with a diameter of 50-60cm will sell for about 11 USD, slightly higher than last year.

An area of one acre (equivalent to 300 square metres) has 300 trees, and each acre will yield an average profit of 1,000-1,222 USD.

In a strategic move in 2021, Binh Thanh commune allocated a 4-hectare plot in Kien Long village for chrysanthemum cultivation. This initiative aimed to facilitate cooperation between households that don’t have land, fostering larger-scale production and gradually establishing a prestigious brand for the Binh Thanh flower village.

Binh Thanh commune boasts some 30 households dedicated to chrysanthemum cultivation, managing more than 25,000 plants in total.

Looking ahead, the flower village is poised to integrate with the local tourism sector, extending a warm welcome to visitors eager to explore the vibrant flower-filled landscape.
