The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has licensed Jayangti Pte Ltd of Singapore to build a 6,000 tonne-a-year instant coffee plant in Dray Blang commune, Cu Kuin district.

The plant, the largest of its kind in the country, has an investment of 288 billion VND (16 million USD).

Earlier this year, the province also allowed the Netherlands-Vietnam Coffee Co. Ltd to build a plant to process 100,000 tonnes of coffee beans a year and the Trung Nguyen Coffee Company to build a plant to process powder coffee and instant coffee.

To attract investors, Dak Lak province has adopted numerous preferential policies in terms of infrastructure development, land rental and labour training.

The province also joins and businesses to provide fundings to help coffee growers build processing establishments and store houses to improve the quality of coffee for export.

Dak Lak is the country’s biggest coffee grower and producer with over 180,000 ha of coffee trees, turning out about 450,000 tonnes of coffee beans a year./.
