Thousands of visually impaired students have been able to improve their English skills thanks to the dedication of staff at a free language centre in Hanoi.

Founded in 2011, Vietnam and Friends offers free classes to help students gain more confidence in communicating in English.

The centre on Lac Trung Street is a warm space where visually impaired students find it easier to get access to a breadth of knowledge.

It always goes vibrant with the chirping of enthusiast students who are all engaged in the classes and confident to speak English.

The Vietnam and Friends has operated such classes since 2010, with 6-8 students each. Special braille curricula were designed for the students.

With their dedication, the volunteers have helped the visually impaired overcome challenges./.
