Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the Governmental Office to improve the efficiency of its job as aide to the Government, making it top priority in 2011.

The Government leader said at a meeting in Hanoi on January 21 that the Governmental Office should closely follow the target programme for 2011 and clearly determine key tasks right at the beginning of the year.

“The jobs of providing consultation for the Government and working out the Governmental Office programmes are of primary importance as they have a direct impact on the performance of the Prime Minister, his deputies and the cabinet as a whole,” emphasised the Prime Minister.

He asked the Governmental Office to point out the Government’s outstanding problems and weaknesses in service of the upcoming revision of the Constitution and the Law of Governmental Organisations, so as to improve government operations in the future.

Minister-Chairman of the Government Office, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also Politburo member of the Party Central Committee pledged to strengthen the task of consultation and summary of the Governmental operations, to help improve the Government and the Prime Minister’s performance in 2011.

Thorough research will be conducted to increase the efficiency of consultation in materialising the 11 th National Party Congress’s resolution, Phuc said.

The Government has set major tasks for 2011, focusing on stabilising the macro-economy, ensuring a balanced economy and renewing the growth model.

To speed up administrative reforms, strongly fight corruption and practise thrift are also set as major tasks for the Government this year./.
