Hanoi will work hard to facilitate the investment of Polish businesses in the locality, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao said when welcoming Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Katarzyna Kacpercryk on June 11.

Thao expressed his hope that in the time ahead, Hanoi will receive more cooperation in the fields that Poland holds advantages such as education-training, urban management, transport, historical relic site conservation, and ship building.

Regarding the East Sea situation, Thao stated China’s illegal placement of its Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig deep inside Vietnam’s waters is seriously violating international law, threatening both regional and global security.

He asked the Polish Government to support Vietnam’s legitimate interest at international forums in its fight to force China to withdraw its rig from Vietnam’s waters.

Kacpercryk pledged to do her utmost to boost friendship between Polish and Vietnam, and between their capital cities.
