Ho Chi Minh City will adopt more policies favouring Japanese businesspeople and investors when they come to live and do business in the city, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan has said.

At his meeting with new Japanese Consul General Nakajima Satoshi on June 9, Quan spoke highly of Japan’s cooperative programmes to the city’s socio-economic development.

Many infrastructure projects in the city have benefited from Japan’s ODA source, he said, asking the diplomat to design more programmes to ramp up connection between the two sides.

The new Consul General said his top priority will be given to investment promotion activities to draw more Japanese investors to the city and Vietnam.

He highly valued the positive measures and policies of the Vietnamese Government and the municipal authorities to aid foreign businesses, including Japanese ones, in running long-run operations in the country.
