Over 30 volunteer doctors from Ho Chi Minh City are providing free medical checkups and treatments to about 3,000 Overseas Vietnamese and poor people in Cambodia ’s Koh Kong province.

The programme, which has been joined by some doctors from Ho Chi Minh City ’s neighbouring province of Dong Nai , is a vivid manifestation of the sound cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia .

Yumi, Deputy Governor of Koh Kong province expressed his gratitude toward the doctors, saying their assistance is practical to the local people who are yet to receive sufficient health care.

The programme was organised by the Koh Kong Association of Cambodians of Vietnamese origin, which, on the occasion, pledged to arrange more free-of-charge medical care projects for the poor in the locality.-VNA
