Ship Samudra Paheredar of the Indian Coast Guard with 122 officers and crew members on board anchored at Da Nang port on October 14, beginning its three-day official visit to Vietnam.

The visit aims to strengthen the friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ armies.

It also offers an opportunity for the Vietnam Maritime Police and the Indian Coast Guard to exchange experience in improving their law enforcement at sea.

During their stay, the Indian guests plan to pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of the People’s Committee of central Da Nang city and visit the High Commands of the Military Zone 5 and the Maritime Police Zone 2.

The two sides will discuss such issues as environmental pollution prevention and search and rescue work at sea.
The Indian officers will also call at some landscapes in Da Nang , Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue.-VNA
