Khanh Son ancient lithophones recognised as national treasure
Two sets of Khanh Son ancient lithophones have been recognised as national treasures recently. With its cultural and historical values, lithophone has become a source of pride for the Raglai ethnic people living in mountainous areas in the south central province of Khanh Hoa.
Khanh Son ancient lithophones date back 2,500- 3,000 years.
The collection of 12 stone musical instruments from Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa province was discovered in 1977.
In 1979, information on the Khanh Son lithophones was officially made public.
They are now being kept in the Khanh Hoa Province Museum.
There have been dozens of experimental and staged compositions using Khanh Son ancient lithophones.
The lithophone has become a source of pride for the Raglai ethnic people in Khanh Hoa province./.
