At a press conference on Sept.19, team coach Henrique Calisto said the cup would be good preparation for Vietnam before they defend the ASEAN Football Championship AFF-Suzuki Cup in December.
Meanwhile the Kuwait team is eager to get going and started training just three hours after a 30 hour flight on Sept.18. The tournament will also be part of both teams' preparations for the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, in November.
Kuwait's coach U-23 Al Semmari said his team would include 12 players who played in the Gulf Cup final against the United Arabs of Emirates last month.
Australia's U-23 team will also have a tough match against North Korea in Sept.20's early game./.
