Hanoi (VNA) – Close to 200 artists and musicians from 30 countries and territories will participate in the second Asia-Europe Music Festival and the 34th Asian Composers League (ACL) Festival and Conference, which will be hosted by Vietnam from October 12-18.

Do Hong Quan, Chairman of Vietnam Musician’s Association made this announcement at a press conference on October 5 in Hanoi.

He said the events provide a good opportunity to introduce Vietnamese revolutionary and contemporary music, contributing to promoting the Vietnamese culture and strengthening ties of countries in the Asia – Pacific region and in the world.

The second Asia-Europe Music Festival and the 34th ACL Festival and Conference, themed “Music – Convergence and Pervasion”, will include a series of 11 main performances of symphony, chamber music, chorus, opera and ballet.

There will be two workshops on Asian – European New Music and Vietnamese Monochord or “Dan Bau”.

The opening ceremony will take place at 8pm on October 12 at Hanoi Opera House, and the closing ceremony will be held at 8pm on October 18 at Vietnam National Musical Academy’s Main Concert Hall.-VNA
