Newspaper presents aid to needy students
The “Golden Heart” Fund of Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper has raised and
presented over 1.3 billion VND (61.400 USD) to needy students in 46
provinces and cities nationwide on the occasion of the new academic
year.

This is the 14th year the fund has carried out the programme to support students to schools.
Last year, programme mobilised over 800 million VND (37.784USD) worth of cash and goods. The fund gave 170,000 notebooks and 100 scholarships for needy students in 40 provinces nationwide.
On this occasion, the newspaper presented 700 million VND (33.061 USD), sourced from a programme to help Hoang Sa and Truong Sa fishermen, to children from poor families in the central region and disaster-affected areas in an attempt to encourage them to continue their study.-VNA
