Phu Yen biomass power plant joins national grid
The India-invested company commenced the
construction of the factory in 2015 in the mountainous
district of Son Hoa after its sugar plant in the locality raised capacity to
8,000 tonnes of sugarcane per day.
The power plant fuelled by bagasse has a
designed capacity of 60 MW and a total investment of nearly 1.3 trillion VND
(57.1 million USD).
The first phase of the project has been
completed with a capacity of 30 MW and it is able to generate over 70 million
kWh of electricity annually.
The company is carrying out the second phase of
the power plan along with raising the capacity of the sugarcane processing
plant to 10,000 tonnes per day.

Limited K.V.S.R Subbaiah said the company also hopes to invest in processing
side products of sugar production such as alcohol and microbiological
