Special stress-relieving dance on jazz music in Hanoi

To temporarily forget all the problems in daily life, these young people have chosen to immerse themselves in jazz music.

Every Friday and Sunday night, many young people of Hanoi Swing Dancing Club are immersed in the familiar jazz music at Complex 01 on Tay Son street, Dong Da district, Hanoi.

Here, they are taught some swing dances but can dance in their style to this energetic background music.

Swing was born and developed from 1920 to 1940 - the boom period of jazz music in America. Swing has many different dance styles, such as lindy hop, balboa, and jive - a special style of the east-west coast of the US.

The most popular style probably is lindy hop. This style of swing dance appeared quite early and was the source of many other styles. In each activity session of Hanoi Swing Dancing Club Hanoi, participants will be taught some lindy hop dance moves in the first half of the session.
