Bangkok (VNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak has forecast that the Kingdom's GDP will likely grow more than 3 percent this year.

In his capacity as the Cabinet's Chief Economic Strategist, Somkid said he believes the government’s stimulus measures will further promote economic growth.

Speaking at a seminar entitled "Thailand’s New S-Curve," he also stressed the economy will expand beyond his expectations, given that certain factors remain unchanged until the year’s end.

Somkid stated that the government will proceed with various projects, which include BTS sky train extensions, during the first half of next year.

He is planning to propose to the Cabinet this week the establishment of an investment fund to attract more investments.-VNA
