Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand and China started construction on a 14 billion-USD railway projects in Chiang Rak Noi Station in central Thailand's Ayutthaya province on December 19.

The groundbreaking ceremony saw the attendance of Thai Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Jantong and Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong.

The project includes 1.435-metre gauge railways with a total length of 845km along two routes, one starting from the Noong Khai border gate with Laos to Bangkok and the other linking Bangkok and Map Ta Phut port in Rayong province.-VNA
