Thailand has been ranked 26th in the 2012 Country Brand Index (CBI), a worldwide annual ranking of the world’s leading country brands.

One of the world's largest advertising agency networks, McCann Worldgroup, revealed the results of its 8th annual CBI, which ranks the world’s countries based on global perceptions of their cultures and industries, as well as economic vitality and public policy initiatives.

Switzerland has ranked first, followed by Canada , Japan and Sweden . The CBI placed Thailand at number 26, while neighbouring Singapore was ranked 14th.

Thailand has also been listed in a new addition to the study called the Future Fifteen, which ranks 15 countries on course to transform the global landscape economically, politically and culturally. The United Arab Emirates topped the list.

The CBI draws insights from 3,600 opinion-formers and frequent international travelers from 18 countries.-VNA
