The Saigon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist) has launched a campaign to support Japanese disaster victims to mark the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that swept across the country.

Subsequently, the company will donate 100,000 VND for every customer who takes a package tour to Japan starting on Mar. 13 for one year, to support the survivors .

This is just one of the many activities the company has organised over the past year to provide assistance to victims.

Immediately after the disaster, Saigontourist called for a financial contribution from all of its employees to donate to the Japanese Red Cross. It also resumed its tours to Japan in May 2011, just two months after the disaster, after beginning a programme that allowed tourists to get involved in the rebuilding of Sandai City.-VNA
