Low-cost carrier VietJet Air’s additional brand new A320 craft landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on September 25, the eighth among 100 planes ordered from Airbus - the European aviation giant.

The new plane increases the airline’s fleet to 27 of A320 and A321 generations, helping the carrier meet the rising travel demands on both domestic and international routes.

The carrier is launching a promotional programe called “12h, it’s time to VietJet”, and offering 500,000 low fares from 199,000 VND (8.85 USD), 299,000 VND (13.29 USD) and 399,000 VND (17.74 USD) for all domestic flights and international flights to the Republic of Korea (RoK), Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand until April 22, 2016.

It has so far operated 33 air routes inside Vietnam and between Vietnam and cities in Thailand, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Cambodia and China.

According to statistics from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, VietJet Air contributed 70 percent to the Vietnamese air transport growth of 26 percent in the first six months of 2015.

The carrier has made air travel affordable for Vietnamese people and escalated competitiveness in the aviation sector, having a positive ripple effect in other carriers’ operation.-VNA
