in the Italian province of Mondena on Feb. 24.
The workshop was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy , with the Vietnamese business association in Italy (ASSOEVI) and the Confindustria (the Italian employers’ federation) of Emillia-Romagna region.
When delivering his welcoming speech, Vietnam ’s Ambassador Dang Khanh Thoai, gave an overview of Vietnam ’s socio-economic development and said the country continued to record a strong economic growth, despite the global economic recession.
Ambassador Thoai talked about the country’s vast labour reserves and the incentives available to foreign investors and called on investors in Mondena to look in detail at the current opportunities for investment in Vietnam .
Trade Counsellor Tran Thanh Hai then provided information and statistics on the socio-economic situation in Vietnam .
ASSEOVI Chairman Pham Van Hong, who is also a businessman in Mondena, said he hopes that his association will be able to facilitate commercial and cooperative links between both parties.
Vice President of Confidustria Emilia-Romagna , Sergio Sassi, said that the workshop has helped investors in Mondena to get a better understanding of the business environment and the opportunities for businesses in Vietnam .
He said he has visited Vietnam two years ago and the country has an enormous potential and a favourable investment climate.-VNA
