More than 100 representatives from 35 leading Vietnamese and Malaysian IT businesses have attended a forum on information and communications technology in Hanoi on July 18.

Addressing the opening of the forum, Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hop highlighted the significance of the forum in further promoting the friendship between the two countries and effective cooperation between the two countries’ businesses in the IT sector in particular.

The minister also spoke of the country’s target to turn Vietnam into an IT power in the next ten years.

Malaysian representatives proposed detailed cooperative activities with Vietnamese partners following the forum.

Vietnamese and Malaysian businesses signed eight memoranda of agreement on cooperation in supplying services, technology transfer, e-trade, e-government, e-banking and supporting the cooperation between the two countries’ businesses./.
