Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has requested Vietnam’s representative agency in Turkey take actions to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese nationals in the country.

The order was made following an attempted military coup in Turkey late July 15.

Minh told the representative agency to tighten security measures, restrict movements and keep constant contact with the local police and administration to ensure absolute safety for staff members of the Vietnamese Embassy in Ankara and Vietnam’s trade office in Istanbul, along with all Vietnamese expatriates in Turkey.

He also asked the agency to ready response plans to protect Vietnamese citizens when necessary.-VNA
